This Past Weekend

This past weekend, Kevin had to work so Anna and I got to spend some one on one time together. Unfortunately, she's entering the teething phase so our one on one time was spent trying to make her feel better and trying not to lose my brain from all the crying. Anyway, we did have some good moments.

It started with breakfast... good ol' banana oatmeal (which she didn't eat because her teeth hurt.) Then I thought I'd try the Puffs.
We've tried the Puffs before but she doesn't like them. In fact, she gags and throws up everytime. I don't know why I thought today would be any different. I couldn't resist taking these pics of her expression.

This one cracks me up. She's giving me this look that says "I just puked and you're laughing! Not cool!"
To make it up to her, we played in the swing for a while. She enjoyed it for about five minutes but then she got fussy so onto the next attempt to stop the tears.
So we moved to the "cage". This didn't last long. She sat there rubbing her tongue on her gums the whole time. You can see it in the picture below.
"Where's Anna? There she is!" She didn't like that game either.
So we moved onto the floor in our living room. Wide Open Spaces! This actually entertained her for a while because she got to chase after Houston the Cat.
Houston, however, was not that happy but I appreciate him playing along. Thanks Buddy!

Plus, I finally got a smile out of the deal. Maybe things were taking a turn for the better.
So we decided to meet Meme, Grandad and Lindsey for lunch at MiMi's. She was happy to see them but she definitely wasn't herself.
After lunch we went shopping but that was cut short because of the fussiness. That's ok, I didn't need to buy anything anyway. So we went home and Anna took a 3 hour nap! She NEVER takes a 3 hour nap! Most days, she doesn't take a nap at all. Anyway, when she woke up, she had a bad case of Bed Head!
She seemed to be feeling a little better so we played dress up. I'm trying the whole bow thing. Her hair is growing longer but not quite long enough for any major up do's.

Then our hero came home. Yeaaaaaa Daddy's home!!! She's become a daddy's girl so after all of my attempts to keep her happy, all he had to do was walk in the door and do this...

For the record, I tried this and I got nothin'!

All in all, we survived the day. And through all the tears, hers and mine, I had a really good weekend and I wouldn't have spent it any other way. I love you Banana.

A Day At the Zoo

We took Anna to the zoo for the first time on Sunday. The animals were beautiful. She was having a good time until her allergies set in. By the time we left, her eyes and nose were running like crazy! Here's some pics from our day.

Anna's First "Road Trip"

Anna enjoyed her first trip to Northwest Arkansas this past weekend, and it was her first official car ride that lasted over an hour. (Maybe we should get out more.) Anyway, we dropped her off with her Grammy and Poppy while Kevin and I went to the Razorback "game". She had much more fun than we did! She got to play with her grandparents, aunt and uncle and great grandmother. I could tell she had a really good time. And they wore her out because the whole way home, she did this....

Charles Blake's Birthday Party

Sippy Cup Practice

Torture or Greatest Invention Ever?

I'd say GREATEST INVENTION EVER!!!

Now that Anna is crawling all over the place, we decided to get this "play pen". I don't care what anyone says, we love it. She can't get into anything that could hurt her and we can actually get some things done without carrying her around from room to room.

And she likes it too. We've filled it with all of her favorite toys (especially the kitchen Uncle Greg and Aunt Laurie let her have.)

And she really likes it when she has company. Here she is with her cousin Lindsey.

8 Months Old

Anna is getting so big... and so much fun! I love watching her learn new things. My favorite thing to do is sit back and watch her figure things out. I know everyone says this about their own child, but my kid is a freakin' genius! :)

Here's what she's been learning lately...
1. CRAWLING!!! That's our biggest accomplishment. She's not up on all fours, it's more like an army crawl (her Uncle Greg in Ft. Smith will be so proud!) The other night I was trying to eat dinner while she played in the floor and I had to get up at least 6 times to get her out from underneath my chair. I'm buying a gate this weekend!
2. She's sitting up on her own. I don't have to stand close by waiting for her to fall over anymore. Now she catches herself.
3. Eating is still not a problem. She eats breakfast and dinner and has her bottles every 4 hours.
4. She hardly ever takes a nap during the day. Her teachers at school said they put her in her crib to try to make her take a nap but she just lays in there playing. You'd think she'd be cranky by the time we get her home but she never is. At first I was worried that she wasn't taking any naps but since she's not cranky I just accepted it.
5. TALKING!!! This kid never stops! She says mama and dada the most. Every morning when I drive her to school, she talks the whole way. I love our morning conversations.

Happy 8 Month Birthday Poo's Poo's! We love you very much!!!

Anna's 6 Month Pictures

Thought I'd share Anna's 6 month pictures. Isn't she a cutie! Thanks again Melisa for everything.

Open Your Eyes Kid!

I'm not sure why she's been doing this lately. You'd think she'd be used to a camera flash by now. Anyway, they made me laugh so I thought I'd share.
