Take A Stand!

Anna's been pulling up on things for a while now, but she's slowly starting to try to stand on her own. The other night, she was standing next to this toy and she kept letting go, trying to hold her balance. She would hold it for a few seconds and get so proud of herself that she'd start clapping. It was so cute!
This is Anna's favorite thing to do these days... open cabinets! Half of our kitchen is child proofed from the family that lived there before us. We've never gotten around to doing the rest of it, but it's on our list of things to do this weekend.

P.S. Anna has two teeth now! Her second one started coming in on the bottom about a week after her 1st birthday.

Christian's 2nd Birthday Party

Sunday we went to Playworld to celebrate my nephew Christian's 2nd birthday party. We had a lot of fun and all the kids we entertained by all the fun toys and games and jungle gyms. Anna got to play in the toddler area in the ball pit and go down slides. She loved it!
Avery and Papa. Avery just got a new hairdo. It's so cute!

A Different Point of View

We finally broke down and bought Anna a new carseat. We did a trial run in the house to see what she thought. The look on her face sums it up... she loves it! She thinks she's such a big girl now!
So we gave it a test run last night for the first time. Anna looked so cute in her big girl carseat. She was looking around and talking, having the best time! She's still a little small but she'll grow in to it.
P.S. It took everything I had not to cry when we put her in this thing. I'm such a sap!

Playing with Anna

This little pony plays the Lone Ranger song and Anna likes to sing along with it. It's so cute to hear her sing.

This piece of cheese stayed on her nose forever! She never even noticed!
Anna loves her new Dora chair! She loves to crawl in it and read a book.

12 Month Stats

Anna went to the doctor for her 12 month stats this week and here's where she's at: 19 lbs. 6.6 oz. and 28 1/4 in. long. She's in the 23%... she's such a little runt! Everything went great and most importantly, she's healthy. And the good news for mom and dad is we can start weaning her off of formula. WOO-HOO!!! I can't believe a year ago, she was born and weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz and was 19 1/4 in. long. She's gotten so big!

Here she is last year... January 5, 2008
And this year... January 5, 2009

Anna's 1st Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Anna's 1st Birthday... and what a bash! Our whole family was there to help us celebrate Anna's big day! Thank you everyone for coming and sharing this special day with us. It means so much to me and Kevin that you were here and thank you for all the love you've given to our sweet little Anna.
Anna's all dressed up for her Big Day!
The decor - pink and brown of course!
I covered the mantle with pictures from the day she was born to now. I thought it was neat to see how much she's changed in a year.

 Present Time!

 Present Time!

All those presents wore me out! Time for some cake!

She wasn't a big fan of the cake so Kevin and Lindsey had to feed it to her.
 And here's what was left.

Happy Birthday Anna! It's hard to believe you're already a year old. We've had the best time with you and we are so lucky to have you in our life. You are a wonderful daughter and we are so thankful for you. We love you! -Mom and Dad
 The End!!! :)

New Years!

Since it was Anna's first New Years, we decided to stay in and do nothing. It was the best decision considering we still haven't recovered from all of our Christmas adventures. Besides, New Years is overrated! As you can see, Anna didn't make it to midnight, and honestly, neither did we! Lights out by 11.

Happy New Year Bananas! I know 2009 will be as much fun as 2008!

The aftermath...

After celebrating SIX total Christmas' this year, here's what we have to show for it... TOYS TOYS AND MORE TOYS!!!!
