Snow Day!

With more than 6 inches of snow on the ground, we weren't going to let this opportunity pass us by.  Unfortunately Kevin had to work but Anna and I got to stay home and play!

Abby played with us too!  But I h ad to tell Anna to watch out for the "yellow" snow.  ;)

We even built a snowman... well... snow-Diva!

3rd Birthday Party - Cancelled!

On the day of Anna's 3rd birthday party, we were set to have a big party at River City Gymnastics.  Little did we know the weather had something else in mind.  Snow!  And lots of it!  We weren't going to let snow stop us though.  When we left our house to go to the party, it was barely snowing.  By the time we got to the place, it was a blizzard!  So maybe snow was going to stop us.  We immediately started calling all of our friends and family to cancel the party.  We didn't want anyone getting out in this mess if they didn't have too.  The ladies at the gymnastics place were sweet and let Anna play a little bit while I made arrangements to reschedule her party.  I was completely heartbroken that her party was cancelled.  She had been talking about it all day and she was so excited.  But seeing her run around and play in the few short minutes we were there seemed to be enough for her.  She was on cloud 9!

This was the biggest loss of the day... a cake I had specially made just for her.  It matched her shirt and everything and now we had no one to help us eat it.  Or so I thought.  :)

We ended up going over to Kevin's brothers house who lives right around the corner from the gymnastics place.  There we were joined by MeMe, Grandad, Memama, Greg, Laurie and Lindsey.  YES!  Someone to help us eat this cake!
After cake and ice cream, Linds and Anna enjoyed a little snow time.

Even though the party was cancelled, she still had a great day and that's all I could ask for.

A Special Day for a Special 3 Year Old

On the day of her birthday, Kevin and I both took the day off to spend the day pampering our little angel.  Our first stop was girl time at the nail salon.  She and I had our fingernails and toenails painted... pink with white polka dots for her, Razorback red for me!
Then we went to Purple Cow where she enjoyed a scoop of their famous purple ice cream.  Yes, this was her lunch but since it was her birthday, I let it slide.
And finally, Kevin and I decided that it was time to do the thing I've been dreading... cut Anna's hair!  We went to Pigtails and Crewcuts for a haircut and Anna wasn't really into it, mainly because we had taken her all over the world that day and she hadn't had a nap.  Crankiness was setting in fast!  But we made it through it, and only about two inches shorter.  (I couldn't bring myself to cut it any shorter.)

After the haircut (and a much needed nap) we celebrated her birthday with cake!
Where she huffed....
...and she puffed...
...and she blew them all out (with a little help from Daddy!)
In the end, she had beautiful nails, a full belly and gorgeous hair!  Nothing but the best for this little girl!
We love you Anna!  Happy 3rd Birthday!

Christmas in Ft. Smith

Our last stop on the 2010 Christmas Tour was Ft. Smith.  We headed north to spend the day with Grammy and Poppy... and to see my new little nephew Connor.  He's gotten so big!
Baby Connor rockin' his new shades!
Anna and COnnor with Grammy.  Anna looks like she doesn't like sharing her Grammy time!  haha!
Grammy and Poppy and their two grand-munchkins!
