 We finally got her the swing she liked so much at Eric and Paige's house. She really likes it!

"Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"

When Anna sleeps, she ends up in so many random positions. Last night I walked in to see her crammed in the top of her crib. It made me laugh.

 

FINALLY!!!

Two weeks ago, Anna started saying "da-da". Last night, it was finally my turn. She said "ma-ma"!!! I never imagined how that simple little word could mean so much. Hearing her say it absolutely melts me. I love you baby girl!

7 Months Old

 

Here we are at SEVEN months and little Banana Cakes is growing so fast! Here's what she's been up to...

1. She loves to play in the floor. She can't crawl yet but she's already pushing forward. She rolls everywhere too so we have to keep a close eye on her. She likes to roll under our coffee table and look through the glass.
2. As you can tell from the picture above, she's sleeping great! She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 and doesn't get up until 7 or 7:30. Her favorite sleeping position is on her belly. As soon as we put her in the crib, she flips to her belly. She's moves a lot in her crib too and most mornings when we go to get her, she's facing the other way!
3. She loves to eat! She eats cereal and fruit in the morning and has veggies and fruit for dinner. There hasn't been one thing that we've put in her mouth that she doesn't like! She'll eat anything!
4. She's "talking" a lot more. She loves to babble, say da-da, grunt and laugh. Still no ma-ma, but trust me, I'm working very hard on that.
5. No teeth yet.

She has been absolutely wonderful and everyone always said that this would be a fun stage, and they're right. We have so much fun with her and I love watching her learn new things. Happy 7 Month Birthday Banana Cakes! We love you!

Many of you know Kevin is a HUGE Cubs fan, and apparently they're doing really good right now (but I'm not allowed to talk about it because I might jinx them!) Anyway, this is what happens when Anna and Daddy stay home together!

Who needs a Picasso when you've got this! Anna made this at daycare a few months back and they finally sent it home. They had it on their wall and didn't want to part with it, I guess. I don't blame them... look at this masterpiece! :)

A Day in the Sun

Anna, Kevin and I spent the day at a friends pool this past weekend. It was the first time for Anna to be a in a "big people" pool and she had a blast. She loves the water!

 As much as she loved the water, she loved this swing even more! You can tell by her smiles that she was having the best time ever. I guess we'll be buying one of these soon.

 She was a little too small for this floaty thing so we were holding on for dear life, which was hard considering she was lathered head to toe with SPF 50!

Thanks Eric and Paige for letting us use your pool for the day. We had a great time!

Anna's first word is......

"Da-Da"

Ok, we realize she has no idea what she's saying. She was just babbling and "da-da" came out, but you know what, we're counting it! It counts right?! Now we have to work on "mama".

Anna's 6 Month Stats

We took Anna to the pediatrician this morning for her 6 month check-up. She weighs 15 pounds 3 ounces and she's 25 1/2 inches long. She's in the 30-40%. The doctor said she's doing great and everything seems to be right on target. Actually, her words were "she's perfect", but we all knew that! :)

Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Anna is now six months old! Here's what she's been up to:

1. She rolls all over the place. No more leaving her on the bed while I get ready in the morning!

2. She loves her veggies. She eats carrots, peas, green beans and sweet potatos. This weekend she had her first taste of applesauce and bananas. She wasn't as excited about eating sweets like I thought she'd be.

3. Our biggest accomplishment is she's sleeping through the night! Woo-Hoo!!! She goes down around 8 and gets up about 6. I'm finally getting caught up on all that sleep I lost over the last 6 months.

4. She smiles at everything and everybody. And she's starting to talk a lot more. No actual words yet but I'm working on "ma-ma".

5. Daycare continues to be great! She plays in the floor, in the bounce bounce baby, they take her on buggy rides outside, she even paints. She's very happy there.

6. We're working on sitting up. She can't quit do it on her own yet, but she's getting better. She did graduate to the highchair for dinner time, even though she always leans to one side. :)
