A Day at the Water Park

Kevin, Anna and I went down to the River Market today and played at the water park. We've never been before but it will definitely be a place we will go back to. Anna loved it! All it is is water spouts that shoot out of the ground that the kids can run through. Anna wasn't too thrilled with the water getting in her face but she had fun running around and watching all the other kids.

18 Months

Anna turned 18 months old this past Sunday. We went in for her well baby visit this morning and here's her stats:

Weight: 23 lbs. 5.4 oz. (35%)
Height: 30 3/4 in. (23%)
Head: 18 1/2 in. (63%)

The doctor said she is doing great. She said she's a little on the "chubby" side but I'm ok with that... she needed to pack on a few pounds. She's grown about 1 1/4 inches in height since her last visit at 15 months. She wasn't real thrilled about being at the doctor's office. I think she's starting to figure out that every time she goes there, she gets a shot. Here she is hiding in her daddy's legs.

Her appetite has been great and she's gotten a lot better at using a spoon and fork. She drinks out of a straw really good and apparently at daycare she practices drinking out of an open cup but I have yet to try this at home. Also, at daycare, she no longer uses her pacifier during naptime (another thing we have yet to try at home.)

The doctor said she is ahead of the curve when it comes to vocabulary. In other words, we have a genius on our hands (but we all knew that.) She's starting to put more words together and make a little more sense, but there are days when I don't have a clue as to what she's saying. The most exciting news I have to share... news I am so so so excited about... Anna has her first freckle! Two in fact! She has a freckle on the inside of her right arm and one on the front of her right shoulder. My Nanny used to call my freckles "Angel Kisses" and it looks like the angels are gonna love on Anna as much as they loved on me. :) Even though she may have gotten my freckle gene, she's still very much a Daddy's Girl! She will have nothing to do with me. All she wants is her daddy. It breaks my heart but one day she'll come around. :)

Happy 18 Month Birthday Pooter Poo's! We love you!

A Night with Uncle Greg & Aunt Laurie

Click here to see Anna's visit to her uncle and aunt's house. She's so cute!

Bikini Babe

The weather has been brutal lately so Anna and I enjoyed a little pool time this past weekend. We both suited up and played in her kiddie pool, and yes, I got in too. It was too hot to just sit there and watch her. She loves the water. Every Friday at daycare, they have water play so she's been getting used to being in the water. I hope she gets even more used to it by the time we go to the beach in August!

Fathers Day

I know I've been a bad blogger. Sorry for disappearing, but I'm back with a few posts to share what Little Banannas has been up to. Kevin enjoyed his 2nd Fathers Day this year. Anna and I made him breakfast and then headed to my dads house for lunch. We had a good day and Kevin really liked his gift... an iPhone.
Happy Fathers Day Kevin! You're a GREAT Dad!

17 Months

Anna turned 17 months old on Friday... 17 MONTHS!!! Where does the time go? She is growing so fast and she is such a sweet little girl, but definitely has a mind of her own. She talks a lot these days.... everyday she will say a new word. Of course, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what she's saying. Some of her words are "wassat" for what's that, "side" for outside, "more", "fish", "dog", "shoe", "sock", "juice"... i could go on and on but you get the idea. She enjoys her school. They've been learning things like nose, eyes, ears, tongue, etc. Every time we ask her where her tongue is, she sticks her tongue out as far as she can. She's also been learning colors and shapes. She is an amazing little girl and we are very lucky to have her.

April, I mean, May Showers bring May Flowers!

This post is for Kevin. For those of you who don't know, Kevin is a yard nerd. He loves to be in the yard planting flowers and landscaping, then he drags me out there and tells me the names of all the flowers... blah, blah, blah! However, I am grateful that he takes care of the yeard because I hate doing that kind of stuff. Anyway, here's a little bit of his masterpiece...

Of course, I had to get a picture of Anna in the flowers because kids and flowers are too cute!

Grammy & Poppy Came To Town

Last weekend, Anna's grandparents from Ft. Smith came to visit. We planned on going to the zoo but because of the rain, we had to scratch that idea. Instead we just hung out and played. Anna got a lot of cute presents and a cute little dress from their trip to Cancun.

Thanks for visiting. We'll see you soon!

CAUTION! Under Aged Driver!

Anna got this little 4 wheeler for Christmas and is finally putting it to use. She goes everywhere on this thing, and runs in to everything too! But she looks cute and she's having a blast!

Mothers Day 2009

I celebrated my second Mothers Day with Anna this weekend. It was a really good day. Kevin let me sleep in until 11!!! He and Anna woke me up and gave me a basket full of goodies, including gift cards to get a massage, manicure and pedicure, a bottle of wine, chocolate covered almonds and a big comfy Razorback blanket.

Kevin planned on taking me on a picnic but since it was raining, he made a picnic in the living room. Anna could not figure out why we were eating in the floor...

... but she loved eating my Doritos!

Later that day, we met Kevin's parents at MiMis' Cafe for dinner.
Here she is playing Peek-A-Boo!
All in all, it was a great mothers day and I am so honored to be this kids mom. Thank you Bananas for making Mothers Day, and every day, so special. I love you!

SUPER SWEET 16!

Anna turned 16 months old yesterday. It's almost like she's not a baby anymore, she's like a little girl. She's growing so fast and learning something new everyday. Here's what she's been up to:

1. Her favorite game is peek-a-boo.
2. She calls Kevin "da-da" and she calls me "Da-la". (Go figure! She's already calling me by my first name - GREAT!)
3. She pretty much eats anything except veggies. We still can't manage to trick her into those. Any advice?
4. She is an experienced walker now. She walks everywhere. Most of our evenings are spent watching her walk around the house, back and forth.
5. Her words are: dada, da-la, boo, wassat (what's that), shoe. There's more but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
6. She's comprehends everything. Even though she can't say the words, she understands what I'm saying. That amazes me.
7. The Look! I know I mentioned it in a previous post, but her Look is priceless. If she doesn't like what you tell her to do or if she doesn't know you very well, she will look at you like you are crazy. I can't help but crack up everytime.

Happy Sweet 16 Pooter Head! We love you!

Girl Talk

Kevin had to to work this past weekend so Anna and I took advantage of having a little girls time together. We don't get this alone time often so I was really looking forward to it. It started off with Miss Attitude (which according to Kevin, she gets from me.) This is Anna's new look, actually the picture doesn't do it justice. When she gets mad or doesn't like you telling her what to do, she furrows her brow and gives you a mean look... (ok, so maybe she does get that from me.) Kevin calls it my "red-itude", I changed it to "Anna-tude".

But the day got better. After a little shopping, we enjoyed some time outside with our sidewalk chalk.

Sunday was even more eventful. We got up and spent the morning finger painting. Anna is such a princess... she didn't like getting it on her hands. But eventually she got the hang of it.

 This is her masterpiece!
In the end, she ended up crawling all over her picture and getting it all over her clothes (but I was prepared for that). She even got paint on her face.

After finger paiting we went to the park and played on the playground. We even watched the geese on the lake. They surrounded us and Anna thought it was so funny to hear the geese "quack". After the park, we met daddy for lunch at Buffalo Grill. Yummy! Later that day, I hit the motherload! I bought this big ball for Anna and now she thinks I'm the best mom in the world! She LOVES this thing!

All in all, my weekend with Anna couldn't have been more perfect. We laughed, we played and there for a brief moment she went from Daddy's Girl to Mommy's Girl. :)
