A Day at the Zoo

With summer slowly coming to an end and with the start of football season fast approaching, we thought we'd spend this weekend doing family stuff, which meant a day at the zoo. Going to the zoo with Anna is so much fun now because she loves animals and she goes around making animal sounds. Kevin and I get a kick out of that.
Anna's favorite animal was the lion. She made us go back twice to look at them. She kept saying "Meow!

Anna's Graduation

Anna's class had a graduation ceremony to honor the kids moving up to the next class. All of the parents were there and the kids were able to show what they've learned throughout the year. Anna looked very cute, but she was acting very shy... and tired. She apparently didn't take a nap before the big event.
Here's the whole class. Anna has been with most of these kids since she was a newborn and it's neat to see them grow up together.

Anna was presented a certificate for completing the 2 Year Old Class by her teachers Ms. Cedes and Ms. Keona.

Congratualtions Baby Girl! We are so proud of you!

Here's a few videos from the ceremony.

Overnight Guest

My niece Jacie spent the night with us this weekend and she and Anna had a great time together. Jacie treats Anna like she's her baby so she takes really good care of her, which is good because she has a baby brother on the way in the Fall. I know Anna enjoyed the company so we'll definitely do it again real soon.
We made a big palet in the floor for the girls to sleep on and I let them pick out books to read before bed. Jacie said she likes the way I read books because I get excited. Ha ha! :)

Thanks for coming over Jacie!

II Corinthians 5:17

"In Christ, all things are made new." -II Corinthians 5:17

This is what Anna learned at school this week. :)

Summer is about...

Ice cream...
Pig Tails...
Swimming Pools...
and using the Big Girl Potty!
We are pleased to announce that Anna is finally potty trained! After two weeks of potty training boot camp at school, she finally has it figured out. I am so proud of her! Way to go Banannas!

Family Fun Night

A few weeks ago, Kevin, Anna and I enjoyed Family Fun Night. We've been trying to do fun things as a family and trying to make it special, and of course devote 100% of our attention on Anna. On this night, we decided to make cookies for a 4th of July party we were going to the next day. Anna had more fun eating them than making them until it was time for sprinkles! Then she was all about it.
SPRINKLES!!!

 The final product...
After we made cookies, we made homemade pizzas. Anna did a great job at putting her favorite topping on the pizza and she couldn't wait to eat it!

While the pizza was cooking, we sat down and played a game of Memory. Anna loves playing this game on my iPhone and she's VERY good at it so we thought we'd introduce her to the old fashioned way of non-electronic games. :) (She prefers the iPhone.)
After we ate our pizzas and made a batch of Rice Krispie treats, we made a big palet in the floor and all snuggled up to watch Toy Story 2. (Anna and I had just seen Toy Story 3 at the movie theater the weekend before so she was all about Toy Story.)

Family Fun Night was a success. The summer has been so busy and we seem to be going 100 miles an hour so it was nice to slow down for a night and hang out just the 3 of us. I can't wait to do it again soon.
