We're three weeks in and I'm a walking zombie. Anna has her days and nights confused so she sleeps all day and parties all night... I remember those days!!! Oh, and she won't sleep unless you're holding her. As soon as I think she's asleep and I go to put her to bed, she starts crying. She's still precious though.
We broke down and bought some preemie outfits b/c nothing fits her and I was tired of putting her in the shirts we stole from the hospital. As fast as she's growing though, I'm sure she'll grow out of this very soon. We are both exhausted! This is what I see every morning. It's so cute!
Adorable!
She's a beautiful baby Darla! Sleeping will get better! Carly didn't have her days and nights mixed up, but she slept in the crook of my arm every night for the first 4 or 5 weeks. It was literally the only way I could get nighttime sleep! Have you tried the velcro swaddles? It doesn't work for all babies, but it worked wonders for Carly.
ReplyDeleteYou never hear how difficult the first 8 weeks or so are, but they are exhausting and rewarding at the same time. The good news is that the time will fly and before you know it Anna will be on a good sleeping schedule and you will feel like a new person! Hang in there! The tough times will be past you before you know it. :)
ReplyDeleteditto what paige said. :)
ReplyDeleteI have no encouraging words since I am not a mommy yet!! But, hang in there, it is going to get better soon. If you find the trick, let me know so I can keep a mental note for July :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. Lucas is a gassy baby. He will fall a sleep in my arm and he'll start crying if I lay him down on the bed. I've been giving him Mylicon and it works like magic! He sleeps better at night, well at least close to 3-4 hours. But, still better than waking up every 2 hours.
